Following treatment, it’s important to advise your client on what to expect immediately after and in the weeks that follow. You’ll also want to provide them with tips to help them get the most out of their procedure. Managing expectations is also key, so please be sure to inform your client that maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle and diet is crucial for long term-success. Even though cavitation permanently destroys fat cells, it’s very possible for the fat that remains to expand.
Each client will receive a post-treatment instruction sheet. Below are highlights from that document that must be discussed with the client directly.
What To Expect
At some point shortly after treatment, and in the first few weeks, you may experience one or more of the following: nausea, diarrhea, muscle spasms, aching and/or soreness. A gradual reduction of the fat layer will take place following your treatment. You may start to see changes as early as four to six weeks after cavitation, and you will experience the most dramatic results after three months. 4 to 6 treatments are encouraged to reach individual goals.
Maximize Results
It’s recommended that you drink plenty of water following treatment. Liquified fat will be circulating through your body. Increasing your water intake will help facilitate the elimination process. It is strongly recommended that your drink a minimum of half your body weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 180lbs , you would drink 90 ounces of water per day; more in hotter environments such as Arizona or Nevada.

The Journey of Fat
One of the most common questions you’ll receive from clients as a technician is — where does the fat go?
It’s crucial that you have an understanding of this process and are able to appropriately explain. Fortunately, the answer can be quite simple. When fat cells are destroyed and liquify, the body will excrete this waste through one of several eliminative channels including urine, sweat, or stool.
